From a smokey home game to a high stakes all-or-nothing life or death casino grudge match "Kowboys" charts the turbulent world of No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker in Dublin through the eyes of Danny, its newest devotee.

This is my second time working with Paul Gernon (Coiled Wire being the first). When Paul offered me the part of the poker playing Danny at the MTV party at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 my first question was "How do you play poker?", "I'll show you" he said and promplty liberated 20 euro from me within 15 minutes. I then spent ten months studying, watching and playing poker in preparation for the role and took my revenge on him during a game at the wrap party...

The title "Kowboys" derives from the poker term for Kings.
